Show Your Trees Some Love This February

February is cold, but it’s a great month to give your trees a little TLC. Think of it as a Valentine for your property! Since we’re experiencing a little bit of a warm-up, (at least compared to the last few weeks!) we recommend taking the opportunity to walk around outside. Take notes about any changes to your trees, make a plan, and make sure your trees are happy and healthy for spring.

Here’s how to show your trees some love:

  • Prune with Care: Cut away dead or damaged branches before buds start to appear.

  • Check for Winter Stress: Heavy snow and ice can weaken branches. Spot trouble early.

  • Plan for Spring Plantings: February is perfect for mapping out new trees or shrubs.

  • Mulch & Protect: Keep roots insulated from late-winter temperature swings.

A little attention now goes a long way. Healthy trees mean a thriving yard, stronger growth, and fewer surprises later.
